Natural solid wood is the primary material for Mission style kitchen cabinets. Oak or American white oak being the most popular species used. Cherry is another durable option and looks exquisite in Mission style design because their rich natural color is showcased more. This type of kitchen cabinet styles are also often left in their natural, unfinished state. They are never treated with an opaque paint, but can be stained to enhance the richness of its undertones. Warm colors and deep hues are popular wood stain colors for the Mission style kitchen cabinet.
Seafoam green is also a nice color choice to paint your beadboard kitchen cabinets, as it has a refreshing vibe that is easy to mix and match with more contemporary elements. The green beadboard kitchen island in this room pairs beautifully with the white shaker style cabinets to produce a bright and inviting traditional design. Beadboard cabinets are easily identified by how it looks: vertical slats of wood pieced together on their long side resulting in a bead-like connection. These are made from long wood slats which usually have a tongue and groove joinery. This was originally used for wainscoting on traditional houses, but has also made its way into cabinetry & other aspects of the interiors.
