The glass insert kitchen cabinet style makes use of a glass panel instead of a full solid wood cabinet door face. Also known as the glass framed door, this type of kitchen cabinet design can use either clear glass, smoked or frosted glass, colored glass or textured glass. The most common type of glass panel used for this design is the clear glass which allows the users to see the contents of the cabinets without having to open the door. Alternatively, frosted glass can be used if you want to keep clutter out of sight while still providing variation in the finishes and breaking off the heaviness of solid wood cabinetry. Frosted glass is also more commonly used for more modern and contemporary designs.
A beadboard is a row of narrow wood planks that are lined up vertically. Each wood plank has a little ridge in between or a joint where the planks meet which is called a bead. The type of construction that a beadboard panel has traditionally follows a tongue and groove connection in which the tongue of the plank is inserted into the groove of the next plank, perfectly joining the pieces of planks together to form a whole panel of vertical slats.
