When choosing the right material for your kitchen cabinet’s interior finish, opt for those that can last long without staining, cracking or bubbling. Light colors are also more preferable since it allows the users to see the contents of the cabinets more easily. Wood veneers are also not recommended for use as interior finishing for kitchen cabinets as it tends to absorb moisture faster and shows wear more easily. It does not stand up well to strong cleaning solutions and may become damaged by excessive humidity and moisture from dish washing.
Cabinet doors are the components which you use to close and open the cabinets or storage systems, while the drawer fronts pertain to faces of the drawers. Just like the frame, these components are also made up of solid wood and must have a thickness of at least ¾ inches. Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are also made up of rails and stiles that have a thickness of ½ inches to 3 inches. These rails and stiles make up the cabinet door frame which holds the center panel in place. The cabinet door center panel material and design varies depending on the overall style of the cabinet.
